Jayde Aston has recently been appointed as a senior accountant with WMC Accounting. Jayde has been an accountant since graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Economics. Immediately post-graduation, Jayde commenced a graduate position with a large accounting firm in Melbourne. Having worked through her Chartered Accounting qualifications with ICAA, Jayde has spent 9 years in public practice, gaining experience in all areas of taxation compliance.
Jayde has a client facing role at WMC Accounting and predominantly works with clients in primary production, building and construction, and transport. Her prior experience with clients undertaking large scale commercial and residential property development makes her the pragmatic choice for clients navigating through GST and margin scheme implications, and analysis into recognising as trading stock or on capital account. She specialises in compliance and taxation, and is perfectly positioned to instruct clients in the preparation of BAS, financial reports and income tax returns.
As a senior accountant, Jayde has a pivotal role training and mentoring graduate accountants, which she takes pride in undertaking. This role extends to her clients, where she is focussed on improving systems and reconciling accounts so that the underlying information is reliable, relevant and ensures the client can trust the integrity of reporting when faced with financial decision-making. In turn, clients have sufficient knowledge to improve cashflow and maintain a viable business.
Jayde is involved with her community through the Geelong Mums, whose vision is to create a future where mothers and families waste less, share more and care for every baby and child, through several community programs.
