Mitchell joined the WMC graduate talent pool in February 2020, and was immediately immersed in business advisory and emergency relief applications, at the onset of COVID-19. He quickly became an integral part of our JobKeeper and Business Support Fund team, accessing financial data, processing applications and lodging monthly compliance. His enthusiasm and dedication to this major project was evident from the outset, and showcased to Mitchell the need for accounting professionals to adapt to current trends and consistently improve their technical knowledge.
Mitchell completed a double degree in Commerce and International Studies with the University of Wollongong, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting. He is an ASA member of CPA Australia and will begin post-tertiary studies to become a qualified CPA. Mitchell has varied experience gained throughout his university studies, which stand him in good stead at the outset of his accounting career.
In the early stages of his graduate training, Mitchell will be exposed to preparing financial statements and tax returns for small business entities, from companies, trusts, and partnerships through to sole traders. He has shown an aptitude for GST reconciliations, and is an asset to the WMC Accounting graduate team.
